How to Kill a Tyrant in Resident Evil

You have two meetings with the Tyrant in Resident Evil 2. The first is after Dr. Wesker releases it in the laboratory, and the second is on the helipad right before the end of the game. If you are having trouble beating the Tyrant or you just want to make quicker progress in the game, consider using a new strategy.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

First Tyrant Battle

1. Begin the battle inside Dr. Wesker's laboratory. The Tyrant breaks out of its chamber.
2. Take out your Magnum pistol and run away from the Tyrant. You must put some distance between you and the Tyrant so it doesn't use its arm to inflict damage on you.
3. Keep running from the Tyrant as it approaches you. The Tyrant can only walk towards you in this meeting, it can't run.
4. Wait for a clear shot and start shooting with the Magnum pistol. The Magnum is a powerful weapon and after a few accurate hits, the Tyrant goes down.

Second Tyrant Battle

5. Begin the battle on the helipad. The entire team reaches the helipad at the same time and sets off a flare for the helicopter pilot to see. The floor of an elevator bursts open and the Tyrant jumps out of the hole.
6. Take out the Magnum pistol and aim at the Tyrant. At this point, the rest of your team is not participating in the battle because of injuries and broken weapons.
7. Shoot the Tyrant before it reaches your teammate, Barry, and kills him. The Tyrant turns toward you and advances quickly, since it can run in this battle.
8. Keep shooting the Tyrant and running away from it to keep yourself free from injury. After enough shots, the helicopter you summoned arrives and a rocket launcher is tossed from it.
9. Grab the rocket launcher, equip it from your inventory and fire at the Tyrant. If the Tyrant manages to evade the shot, shoot at it again. You have four chances to kill it. When you successfully hit the Tyrant with a rocket, he explodes.
