The Wild Levitation is a popular and easy magic trick that has been performed on television by David Blaine and Criss Angel. When you practice it a lot and perform it properly, this trick spooks people out. Follow these steps to do the Wild Levitation.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Get two of your shoes and clip the inside of them together with a large clip or clothespin. It may be best to use dark shoes or a color that will blend in with the clip or clothespin.

  2. Step 2

Wear dark socks or a color that will blend into the floor or ground that you’re standing on. Place one of your feet in one of the shoes—right handed people will probably want to use the right foot.

  3. Step 3

Hold a dark cloak, sweatshirt or jacket down in front of your foot. Place your other foot behind you. Have the room dimly lit and the audience positioned close in front of you with their eye level as high as possible. It’s best to have them stand up rather than sit.

  4. Step 4

Lift your shoes with your foot while simultaneously lifting the cloak. Shift the cloak slightly up and down while you perform to tease the audience’s eye and keep them from noticing your other foot underneath. Practice before you perform by having someone stand in the same position as the audience will be standing so you’ll know how high you can go with the cloak.

  5. Step 5

Move up, down and sideways with your foot throughout the levitation while teasing with the cloak. You want to keep the audience’s eye moving to keep them from noticing your props underneath.
