How to Use iGoogle Skins Directory

Google's new search platform, iGoogle, is quickly becoming one of the world's leading search engines. Not only can you search for anything your heart desires, you can customize your iGoogle page with your interests. Learn how to use the iGoogle skins directory and you can change your iGoogle theme whenever you want.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Sign up for a Google account. You'll need a username and password in order to use both iGoogle and the skin directory.

  2. Step 2

    Go to the iGoogle Skins Directory webpage. You'll see a list of themes you can add to your iGoogle page.

  3. Step 3

    Peruse the various skins available until you find one you like. There are nature themes, space themes, cartoon themes and classic themes, so there's really a skin for everyone.

  4. Step 4

    Click the name of a skin to view comments from other user's about it. Users can rate the skin with anything from one to five stars and also give specific criticisms or positive comments.

  5. Step 5

    Choose the skin you want by clicking on the "Add it Now" button under the skin you've selected. The button will change to say "Added" and will automatically take you to your iGoogle homepage if it works correctly.

Tips & Warnings
  • Sort the skins by "Hottest," "Most Users" and "Newest" to find out what other users are using and creating.
  • Create your own skins if you can't find a skin you like. Go to the "Developer's Guide" on the "iGoogle Skin Directory" to learn more.
