How to Tell If an Egg is Fresh

Have you wondered if the eggs you buy from a store are fresh, if they were transported in the right way, or if they were stored right? It is important to keep eggs fresh. Rotten eggs contain Hydrogen sulphide which is a colorless, toxic and flammable gas which is responsible for the foul odour of rotten eggs and flatulence. There is a very simple way to find out how fresh the eggs are. Simply fill a medium sized bowl with water. The water should be deep enough to immerse an egg and have about two inches of space above it. Put the egg in, if it sinks fully, the egg is fresh. If it tends to sink on one side and float half way then it is not fresh and in the process of rotting. If it fully floats then you can be sure it is a rotten egg. Also remember you break an egg gently before testing for freshness don't worry. If the yolk is intact and it does not have a bad odour then the egg is good to be eaten. Rotten eggs have yolks that are not intact and they smell awful.
