Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Lip color
  • Gold eyeshadow
  • Lip gloss

    Prep Your Face

  1. Step 1

Start with clean skin. Apply oil-free moisturizer all over your face. Oil causes makeup to run. Dab eye cream sparingly around the entire eye area.

  2. Step 2

Blend a luminizing foundation into your skin. Alternatively, mix a small amount of highlighter or shimmer product into any liquid foundation. Use a creamy concealer where necessary--under your eyes, around your nose and on any blemishes.

  3. Step 3

Use a large powder brush to dust your entire face with translucent loose powder. Powder sets your foundation and controls shine.

  4. Emphasize Your Eyes

  5. Step 1

Sweep gold cream or powder shadow onto your eyelid from the lash line all the way up to the brow bone. Rim your lower lashes with the gold shadow, and apply a bit to the inner corners of your eyes. Beckinsale sometimes uses Urban Decay eyeshadow in Blunt.

  6. Step 2

Line your upper lashes with black liquid eyeliner for the most dramatic look. If you're unsure about using liquid liner, a pencil works well too. Use a coppery brown pencil or shadow to line your lower lashes.

  7. Step 3

Apply two coats of black mascara, and concentrate it on the outer lashes to give a subtle lift to your eyes. If your eyes are green, like Kate's, consider a deep plum mascara to bring out their color. Celebrities love Diorshow Mascara.

  8. Get Your Glow On

  9. Step 1

Dot a cream highlighter on the tops of your cheekbones, around the outside corners of your eyes and across your forehead. Stila All Over Shimmer Liquid Luminizer is a favorite of the celebrity set and their makeup artists.

  10. Step 2

Swipe a rosy blush, like Benefit Dallas, onto cheeks. To give the illusion of higher cheekbones, apply blush to the area just below your cheekbones.

  11. Step 3

Highlight your face with bronzer. Using a light touch, dust bronzer over the tops of your cheekbones, the bridge of your nose, your chin and your forehead.

  12. Play Up Your Pout

  13. Step 1

Finish the look with a nude or berry lip shade. Stroh uses both MAC lipstick in Sophisto and Rimmel Vinyl Lip Gloss in Snog on Beckinsale.

  14. Step 2

Smudge a bit of the gold shadow in the center of both your top and bottom lips to enhance your mouth.

  15. Step 3

Slick a coat of clear gloss over your lip color to make your lips appear fuller.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't forget your eyebrows. Groom them using an eyebrow brush or an old toothbrush, and use a tiny bit of clear mascara or hair gel to hold them in place.
  • Cream or gel eyeliners are easier alternatives to liquid eyeliner, and they're more intense than a pencil. Celebrity makeup artists use Smashbox Cosmetics Cream Eye Liner. Apply them with a flat, narrow brush.
