Many of boxing’s best fighters have found themselves on the losing end of Floyd Mayweather’s dazzling combination punches. Though known as a masterful defensive technician, ultimately it’s Mayweather’s combo punches and hooks that put his opponents on the canvas. Throw combinations like this boxing legend using the following steps.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Step1
Throw Mayweather’s signature attack, the quick double left hook. This is generally a high hook thrown towards the opponent's ear or temple, followed by a second digging hook low towards the midsection, passing under the opponent’s guard. This is a devastating combination attack that has ended title matches in TKO victories for Mayweather.
Step2
Launch rapid-fire straight punches. In Round 7 of his 2003 bout against South African fighter Phillip Ndou, Mayweather threw a series of 3 straight rights that knocked Ndou down and resulted in a TKO.
Step3
Utilize a strong defense to launch counterattacks. Mayweather has always been a defense specialist, and was one of the hardest fighters to hit in boxing. He used his nimble footwork and flexible waist to draw out opponents into opening themselves up and then struck back with hard-hitting combination punches.
Step4
Control the tempo of the fight, and create your own opportunities to attack. When Mayweather faced Arturo Gatti, he took control of the match and did not allow Gatti to develop his offensive.
Step5
Try Mayweather’s other devastating combination weapon: his mouth. Mayweather ranks with Muhammad Ali as one of boxing’s most legendary trash talkers. He uses his comments to put his opponents off-guard and stir up publicity for his fights.
