Shakes are delicious ways to sneak in extra vitamins as well as fiber and calcium. They also make for a tasty snack or breakfast. Learn how to make a strawberry banana shake.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 medium-ripe banana
  • 1/2 cup rinsed, chopped strawberries
  • 1 cup skim or low-fat milk
  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract (optional)
  • 2 or 3 ice cubes
  • Blender
  • Tall glass or 2 medium-sized glasses
  • Straws
  1. Step 1

    Pour one cup of milk into the blender.Add one peeled banana, broken in half.

  2. Step 2

    Put in 1/2 cup of rinsed, chopped strawberries and 2 or 3 ice cubs. Add a a dash (about 1/4 tsp.) of vanilla extract, if desired.

  3. Step 3

    Blend for one minute. If you have the option on your blender, whip for 20 seconds for a frothier shake.

  4. Step 4

    Pour the shake into a tall, clean glass. Or, divide into two medium glasses to share. Add straws and garnished strawberrys to each glass.

Tips & Warnings
  • Instead of milk, you may substitute soy milk (either plain or vanilla).
