Ever wondered how Sherlock Holmes, James Bond and the cast of CSI catch there liars? Even Scooby Doo seemed to catch his share. How would you like to become skilled in the art of deception detection with just a few easy tips? By recognizing telltale signs you to can identify dishonesty without extensive training.

  1. Step 1

    Try to focus on the movement of the individual. Is their expression rigid and unyielding? Are they taking up less space than usual for all physical actions? If yes, chances are the individual is being dishonest.

  2. Step 2

    Pay close attention to face touch. Dishonest individuals have the tendency to touch the area around the lower face. Scratching the nose, touching the lips and chin are just a few examples.

  3. Step 3

    Watch the eye movement. Most often, dishonest people will move around a lot to avoid meeting your gaze. Keep note, if the gaze is prolonged longer than usual, it to is an indicator of dishonesty. Many liars have learned that eye movements are a give away thus, they try to control it.

  4. Step 4

    The movement of the pupil will also show signs of dishonesty. If there is a lie being told, the pupils will dilate due to rise in adrenalin. In addition, watch the person stance. Often liars feel uncomfortable standing in front of the person. Instead, they may choose to stand to the side with off set shoulders.

    Expression is another give away. In addition, sometimes liars will hide the hands behind there back or in the pockets.

    If the individual is playing with objects such as a purse or pen, chances are that individual is being dishonest

    The tone of voice tends to be not consistent with gestures or statements. In addition, too many details in a given story can give way to a dishonest person.

    Another indication is avoiding direct answers or becoming defensive.

    Lastly, the dishonest individual will often change the subject.
