How to Perfectly Steam a Frozen Chicken Breast

How many times, does something that's in the freezer just need to be ready already... The frustration is palpable when that happens, and while we can't yet snap our fingers to magically make a flawless meal appear, this recipe will in fact make getting an entree ready in about 15 mins. a very realistic goal. Things You'll Need

  • Shallow Saucepan with a Cover
  • Dried Basil (Optional)
  • Dried Garlic (Optional)
  • Salt
  • Butter of Margarine
  • Water or Broth

Instructions

    • 1

      Place the frozen chicken breast in the shallow saucepan.

      Fill the shallow sauce pan 1/3 of the way with liquid.

      Add the basil, garlic, salt, and butter or margarine to the saucepan as well.

      Cover the saucepan, and set the fire on medium, and bring to a light rolling boil.

      Once boil is achieved, turn heat down to a medium low simmer for 10 minutes. Turn the breast halfway through.

      After 10 minutes bring back to boil on e last time. When it reaches a boil turn off the heat, and let set for 5 minutes.

      Test your chicken for your personal doneness preference. Enjoy with your meal

Tips & Warnings

  • The leftover sauce can be reduced by boiling it down once the chicken is removed.

  • Be certain that your chicken is cooked all the way through. If you poke it with a fork or knife, and pierce the flesh, check to see that the juices leaving the cut are clear, and do not look pink.
