We have seen horrible disasters in recent years. People lost everything--precious pictures and items which will never be replaced.
We cannot protect everything, but we can protect our writing and our pictures by following the below suggestions.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Memory card or discs
  1. Step 1

If you have not done your writing on the computer, scan your writing into the computer. Scan pictures into the computer and sort according to person, vacation or pet.

  2. Step 2

Once you have scanned everything into your computer, download the writing onto one memory card or disc set, and the pictures onto another memory card. You can also join a photo site and download your pictures to the photo site. They will be there until you take them down. And you will be able to access them should you experience a disaster.

  3. Step 3

Make certain you duplicate discs or memory card. Keep one for yourself and then either send your copies to a friend or family member in another community, or if you are visiting, get a safe deposit box in their city in which you can store your writing and pictures.

  4. Step 4

If your area is in a disaster, chances are your friend or family members will not have suffered from the same disaster and your pictures and writing are safe.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make certain you update as new things are written.
  • Add pictures to your disc or photo site as you take them.
  • Make certain when you choose a place to store your work and photos that you choose a place far enough away from you so that it will likely not be affected by the same disaster.
