- Blockbuster card
- Money for movie rental

- Driver's License (in order to get a Blockbuster card)

Step 1
Find a Blockbuster location. If you don't know where your nearest Blockbuster is, check in the phone book or if you have the Internet, visit the Blockbuster website. Blockbuster also has an online rental service where you can rent movies via the internet and receive them in the mail. They also allow you to exchange those movies in one of their stores. You do have to pay a monthly fee for the online rental service, unlike an in-store card which has no monthly fees. With the online service, you pay the fee whether you rent a movie or not, but don't pay each time you rent a movie like you do in the store.

Step 2
Select a movie or video game. Most Blockbuster stores have the same layout--new movies are in alphabetical order against the walls and the ones in the middle are divided by film genres.

Get a Blockbuster card. After you have selected your movie or video game, head to the checkout counter. When you get there, they'll help you get set up with a new Blockbuster card. It takes about five minutes to do and there is no credit check.

Step 4
Pay for your rental. You can either pay with cash or with a credit or debit card. You can not pay with your Blockbuster card. You will get a receipt that contains important information such as when your movie is due back, the store's address and phone number as well as how much you paid for the rental.
