Heavy cast iron pans are so hard to move if they are hot and full of food! There is nothing worse than not having a grip on the skillet and then it slips and drops! Try this handy tip and get a firm grip on all of your pots and pans. The best part about this is, that you can use all of your old potholders for this project.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Old potholder
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Scissors
Step1
Basic Sewing Supplies Take your scissors and potholder and cut the potholder in half.
Step2
Using the half with the little loop for hanging, sew a seam to join the two edges to form a tube.
Step3
Use When Cooking Slip over the handle of your cast iron pan and double the life of your old potholder!

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure to trim all hanging threads from the potholder so that they won't catch on anything or be a wick for flames to burn you.
