This article will tell you how to cook dry pasta to a near perfect state. Pasta should not be too mooshy or too under cooked.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Your favorite pasta type 1 lb.
  • A large pot with lid
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • A strainer
  • Your favorite sauce
  1. Step 1

Fill the large pot with warm water just below the top and add a good amount of salt. Bring to a rolling boil.

  2. Step 2

Add the pasta, stir and reduce heat to just below boil. Let cook for 5 -8 minutes and remove from heat. Stir the pasta one more time. Put the lid on the pot and let stand for 5 minutes.

  3. Step 3

Strain the pasta, do not rinse and put it back into the pot. Add 2 tablespoons of good olive oil and stir. Now to the plate.

  4. Step 4

Cover with your favorite sauce that has been heated and serve. A little cheese always goes good on pasta. Good luck and happy eating.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure not to over cook.
  • Add oil at end to prevent the pasta from sticking together.
  • Use your favorite sauce.

on 3/27/2008 i love pasta. Another thing that makes it taste great along with the olive oil is a sprinkle of garlic salt! It really brings out the flavor.
