This article will tell you how to broil salmon. It is actually quite easy to do. I used to be a seafood manager for a large chain store. This recipe will be for two.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • 1 lb. really fresh salmon (center cut)
  • 1 large lemon
  • butter or margerine
  • White wine (what you normally drink will do, not cooking wine)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Basil (dried is fine)
  • A broiler pan

Step1
First, make sure your salmon is fresh and rinsed. Let it come to just about room temp and soak it in a 1/2 cup white wine for 10 minutes. Remove from the wine and add a pinch of salt and a few shakes of pepper to taste. Shake a liberal amount of garlic powder and basil on the fish. Rub into the fish and allow to sit for about 5 minutes.
Step2
Turn on the broiler and allow to come to full temp. Put the fish on the broiler pan and squeeze 1 half of the lemon on it and add a pat of butter or margarine. Try not to get the lemon seeds on it.
Step3
Place the pan under the broiler and cook for 10-15 minutes. Remove from the broiler and cover with aluminum foil and let stand 10 minutes. This will the residual heat to continue to cook the fish.
Step4
Remove the foil squeeze the other half of the lemon on it and serve with your favorite sides. Good luck and happy eating.

Tips & Warnings

  • Allow the fish to sit in wine for 10 minutes.
  • Make sure the fish is just under room temp.
  • Be sure not to get the seeds from the lemon on it
  • Watch fish closely so as not to over cook.
