make a wine rack out of a coat hangers.

Got lots of wine bottles? Got lots of disposable coat hangers? Why not make a closet coat hanger wine rack, its fast easy and recycles coat hangers that would otherwise go to waste into a cool homemade wine rack!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • all wire coat hangers
  • closet
  • pliers (optional)
  • wine bottles
  1. Step 1

To start off making your wine rack, find some of the coat hangers you get at the dry cleaners, the ones that are all metal ,not the ones with a bar of cardboard at the bottom. Also find a wine bottle (preferably empty) to bend the coat hangers on.

  2. Step 2

Start by bending the bottom of the coat hanger around the middle of the wine bottle until it looks like 3/4ths of a circle, this is the part that will support the body of the bottle. Then stretch the hanger out until it is long and thin. in the picture the coat hanger is held by the hook.

  3. Step 3

Then bend it over the coat bar in the closet bending the the spot where the corners used to be. Also bend the hook all the way into a circle and bend it down so as to help hold the neck of the wine bottle.

  4. Step 4

Now try and fit a wine bottle in it ,it may take some time to fit it just right but take your time. Once you fit the bottle in it also make sure that it is neck down, so it wont slip out.

  5. Step 5

Congratulations on making your first coat hanger closet wine rack! depending on how many bottles you have you can put one, a few or a closet full of wine! also try hanging shirts in front of your wine ,to keep it safe from prying eyes and thirsty house guests.

Tips & Warnings
  • go slow on the first one to get the bending down
  • don't overload the closet ,30 bottles of Dom Perignon crashing to the floor would be a disaster.
