Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Tool or saw for cutting pvc pipe
  • PVC glue
  • Vacuum pipe or Schedule 40 plumbing pipe, depending on what was used in your vacuum installation
  • Couplers for pipe
  1. Step 1

First determine if you have a leak or a clog by following steps 1 through 4 of the eHow article "How to Unclog a Central Vacuum System"

  2. Step 2

Once you have located the damaged pipe, cut out the damaged portion of the pipe.

  3. Step 3

Cut a new piece of pipe to replace the damaged portion.

  4. Step 4

Apply PVC glue to the exterior of the existing pipe. It is important that you DO NOT apply glue to the interior of the couplers.

Apply PVC glue to the exterior of the new piece of tubing you are installing. Remember NO GLUE on the interior of the coupler.

  7. Step 7

Install the new piece of pipe to the coupler. Twist the pipe for a stronger bond.

  8. Step 8

Connect the new piece of pipe to the other side by repeating steps 4 through 8. Your repair is complete!
