Do you ever loose a button on your shirt? Since most of us have expanding waistline these days, don't you want to know a better way to keep your buttons on your garments? What about your buttonholes on your garments? Do you get tired of them being frayed and tattered? I have a solution for that!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Clear nail polish
  • Dental floss
  • Small razor blade
  1. Step 1

    Sewing tips to save

    Buttons will stay on longer if you sew through only two holes at a time. Breaking the thread and knot before starting on the next pair of holes.

  2. Step 2
    Use a shade to match
     
    Use a shade to match

    Dab a bit of clear nail polish on the center of each sewn button to help prevent threads from breaking.

  3. Step 3
    Use any brand
     
    Use any brand

    For those REALLY stressful areas try sewing your buttons on with dental floss. It really does work!

  4. Step 4

    Now, when making button holes, prevent frayed centers by painting the buttonhole mark with clear nail polish. After it has dried, cut with a razor blade.

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep all razor blades away from small children.
