According to the Centers for Disease Control, Carbon Monoxide (CO) claims the lives of more than 500 Americans each year. Did you know that low levels of CO exposure resemble symptoms of the flu, food poisoning and other illnesses?

Step1
C02 Detector Shortness of breath, mild nausea, and mild headaches are a few of these symptoms. Protect yourself and your family; don’t ignore any of these symptoms. If you suspect CO poisoning, get fresh air immediately and get to the emergency room for a blood test soon after exposure.

dizziness, mental confusion, nausea, or fainting. You can even die if
these levels persist for a long time. Prevention is the key.
Step3
Have a trained professional inspect your fuel-burning appliances at the
beginning of the heating season. Choose appliances that vent their
fumes to the outside and follow all of the instructions that accompany
any fuel-burning device.
Step4
If you use a CO detector, make sure it is
used as a backup, not as a replacement, for proper use and maintenance
of your fuel-burning appliances.
