To jolt your metabolism and boost your energy, eat the right foods.

Instructions
  1. Step 1
    Fresh Ginger
     
    Fresh Ginger

    Ginger ~ Ginger contains capsaicin, its thought to give you a metabolism a little boost. Its also great for anti-neusea and detoxifying. If your not sure what to do with ginger. Try cutting off a piece of ginger root, boiling it for a few minutes in water. Then drink it as a hot tea or add ice for a cold drink. I lov it hot.

    Hot Peppers
     
    Hot Peppers

    Hot Peppers ~ Yep I like it hot. Because hot peppers contain capsaicin, hot peppers are a thermogenic food ~ meaning they raise your body temperature and energy expenditure. Spicy foods are also good for your immune system and increase satiety. Try dicing up jalapeno and adding them to foods. Even in small amounts, it is beneficial for you.

    Green Tea ~ Green tea has a powerful combination of both catechines and caffeine, which is said to work together to enhance fat breakdown. Drinking green tea daily can raise metabolism by 3.5 percent over 24 hours. You'd need to drink three cups of strong green tea daily to get the effect.

    H20 :) Water ~ No metabolism process can occur without water. It's the number one solvent in our bodies. A dehydrated body is not efficient as a hydrated one doing anything and that including burning calories. Less pop more water. Maybe you feel its not glamorous, but hey water is the key. SOOOO drink water as much as you can!!!

    Coffee ~ We all know coffee is a stimulant, and that it's been shown to improve performance slightly for endurance athletes, such as runners like myself. It also has a thermogenic effect. Caffeine from coffee can raise your metabolism by 50 to 70 calories a day.

    Fat-Free Milk ~ The "dairy diet" has been touted the last few years; I have seen mixed thoughts. But, there is some evidence to suggest that fat free dairy, can help you loss weight. Calcium appears to be a metabolic trigger. And you already know its great for your bones.

    Low-Fat Yogurt ~ While your getting a calcium fix, eat yogurt. You may even want to try fat free yogurt. I like eating both depending on my mood that day:} Low-fat yogurt has conjugated linoleic acid aka(CLA) Its thought to reduce body fat and improve body composition.

    Yes, Whole Grain Bread. I lov it and like other feel- full foods. Whole grain bread is a key to satiety but for different reasons. The fiber adds to the feeling of fullness - especially if eating along with a water rich food like soup. I like to have it toasted with a tablespoon of peanut butter,yum. Whole grain bread is good anytime of day! Remember if you are trying to get fit late night eat ting is a bad ideal.

    Whole Grain Cereal ~ Eating whole grain cereal will give you enough energy to keep your metabolism at optimum levels until lunch. Make sure to choice cereals made from whole grains(whole grain isn't the same as multi grain, which may include refine grains), that aren't too high in sugar or fat and that are high to fiber. I like eating it with fat free milk and bananas. I lov that power meal.

    Eggs ~ Eggs are a good source of vitamin D (which most people know you can get that from the sun as well as food). Eggs is needed in the metabolic process because they help contribute to a time release of energy due to their protein content. Vitamin D helps us absorb calcium - a mineral thought to contribute to weight loss and metabolism boost. TO push your metabolism, i eat a boiled egg with high-fiber crackers and a cup of fat free milk. tip~If you not particular crazy for milk like me add a little of fat free Hershey chocolate syrup.

  • You know that aside from exercise, clean eating is the greatest way to boost your metabolism.
