Will be able to conserve water and save money and the environment in the long run

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Install low-flow showerheads. Some of these showerheads come with a pause button and are very cost effective. You will save around 50 – 70% of your current water consumption. This alone will impact your water bill.

  2. Step 2

When you brush your teeth, do you let the water run? This is a habit that many people seem to have. I am guilty of this myself. Most faucets waste around 2 gallons of water every minute. Instead of letting this water run down the drain, turn off the faucet and save.

  3. Step 3

Water your lawn in the morning during the summer. Evaporation is at its lowest during the early morning hours (8am – 12pm) because temperatures are at their lowest. This is the most effective way too save water if not your grass.

  4. Step 4

Try and avoid washing your own car. Go to a car wash and use the automatic washer. They use less water than you would in your driveway. Also it’s their water bill not yours that is adding up.

  5. Step 5

Fix all of your leaky faucets. They waste water slowly over time. This might not impact your life much but over time that constant dripping can add up.
