This will give you all the steps necessary to make a great meatloaf.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 lb. lean (85%-90%) ground beef
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powdwer
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry basil flakes
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • Large bowl
  • standard bread pan
  1. Step 1

Be sure that your ground beef is at room temperature. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Put the ground beef, bread crumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, basil, grated parmesan, and grated mozzarella into the large bowl and mix by hand gently. Do not mush the meat to tightly, allow it to stay a bit grainy.

  2. Step 2

Add the egg white and Worcestershire sauce and blend again, gently. Put the mixture in the loaf pan and spread evenly, be sure not to push down, leave the mixture a little loose. Shake just a little more basil on the top.

  3. Step 3

Put the pan into the 400 degree oven for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees after 10 minutes. Do not remove any of the liquid in the pan. Continue to cook for another 15-20 minutes. Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let stand for 10 minutes. Cut and serve with your favorite side dishes

Tips & Warnings
  • Try as hard as possible not to mash the meat together when mixing it.
  • Be sure to turn the temperature down after 10 minutes
  • Make sure to let the meatloaf stand after cooking for 10 minutes
