Things You'll Need:
- washing machine
- vacuum cleaner with hose and brush attachments
- garden hose
- plant feeder attachment that attaches to the water hose
- glass cleaner
- lint-free cloth or paper towels
- warm soapy water
- old rags
-
Step 1
Take down your curtains and throw them in the washing machine (read the labels to make sure they are machine washable). You will be amazed at how much cleaner your windows will look just from cleaning the curtains. If you have blinds, use the vacuum cleaner with the brush attachment to clean the built up dust off of the blinds before you take them down.
-
Step 2
Now that you have everything out of and off of your windows, lets start cleaning them. Start with the vacuum and use the hose and brush attachments to clean the grime, dust and cobwebs from the corners of the windows and the window sill. Open your windows and vacuum the screens too. That way dust doesn't blow into the house the first time you open your windows. Close your windows when you're through. Then take a rag dipped in warm soapy water to wash away the rest of the grime the vacuum just couldn't get.
-
Step 3
Spray the glass with window cleaner, misting the glass thoroughly but not to the point that the cleaner starts running down the window. With a clean lint-free cloth, wipe your windows in a smooth side-to-side motion.
-
Step 4
Fill the plant feeder attachment with concentrated glass cleaner and attach it to the water hose. Use this to spray (CLEAN) your windows from the outside. Wash from top to bottom to wash the dirt down.
-
Step 5
Re-hang your blinds and curtains and you have finished cleaning your windows.
