How to pass the time on a long car ride

Have you ever been sitting in a car completely bored and wishing the time would go by faster? Here are a few ideas to keep yourselves entertained - particularly if there is a small group of people that are bored together...

Things You’ll Need:

• Ambition
• Caffeine
• Music/radio

1. Play "I Spy":
   Someone in the car says, "I spy something that is __________." The blank could be a color, noun, or adjective. Some examples may include blue, round, moving... Everyone in the car has to guess. The person that guessed correctly is the person who goes next. Keep in mind that each person who states, "I spy..." should ensure their object is not being passed by the car so the guessers can guess appropriately.
2. Search for objects with each letter of the alphabet. Once you pass an object with the letter, the person who spotted the object must shout the letter until all letters have been spotted - inside or outside the car.
3. Play a cd, dvd, iPod, etc...play only a few lines of each song. See if the members of the car can sing the next line when the music stops AND guess the artist of the song.
4. Have one person draw a shape on a piece of paper and have other members of the car ride guess what is being drawn.
5. Put objects in a pillow case. Have everyone in the car guess the objects in the pillowcase without looking. Only let the car members feel the objects for about 5-10 seconds each. Have each person write down what they think are the contents. Look for some really unique objects for this activity. Be aware of sharp objects!
6. Consider travel board games as an option as well.
