How to Survive Your Wedding Day

Your wedding day will be stressful. Your shoes will kill your feet, it might be hot or rainy and the chaos of the day can quickly take over. Follow these steps and you will have a better chance of one day looking back fondly on this milestone.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Water
  • Comfy shoes
  • Deep breaths
  1. Step 1

Get a good sleep the night before. To think you’ll get a full night’s sleep may be optimistic, to say the least, but make sure you get a few hours. All that excitement and adrenaline may be building, but the day will be long and you will want to look your best. Don’t get caught yawning in your wedding photos.

  2. Step 2

Eat a little something. A full breakfast might be a lot on a nervous stomach, but have something small like a bagel or fruit. It will be a long time before you get another chance to eat. Not eating will make the butterflies even worse.

  3. Step 3

Change into comfortable shoes. After the ceremony and formal photos, don’t be afraid to change into cute flip-flops or slippers. Splurge and buy pretty white ones if you’re afraid who will see them. Comfort is key.

  4. Step 4

Drink plenty – of water. Get a little tipsy if you like, but make sure you hydrate. Dehydration leads to headaches, nausea and crankiness. If you grab a glass of water, finish it.

  5. Step 5

Slow down. There is, of course, plenty to do–the ceremony, the dances, the photos, the cake–the list goes on. But take a minute every once in a while and take a look around. See how your guests are enjoying themselves. Have a moment to say hello to a relative you don’t get to see very often or to give your new spouse a little kiss.
