How to Warp an Object in Adobe Illustrator

Adobe Illustrator lets you draw great looking images really quickly. The warp command is a fun and useful way to bring those shapes to life. This guide will get you started using the warp command.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Open Illustrator document
  1. Step 1

    Make a shape with the shape tool. Be sure to have a stroke selected so that your image will show up on the screen.

  2. Step 2

    With your shape selected, click on object/envelope distort/ make with warp.

  3. Step 3

    Choose the warp shape from the pull-down menu in the dialog box. Then you can adjust the bend and distortion using the sliders below.

  4. Step 4

    Adjust the bend and distortion using the sliders in the dialog box.

  5. Step 5

    Hit OK, and your object is warped.
