How to make Chinese Chicken Casserole

Casseroles of all varieties are a favorite home-cooked dish, typically with the flavors of comfort food, and are easy to carry to pot-luck suppers. This is an easy and quick recipe for Chinese chicken casserole. It is really delicious, and the rice crispies and celery give it a nice crunch. Give it a try! You'll love it!

Instructions

Things You’ll Need:

  • 2 tablespoons margarine or butter, melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 1/2 cups rice crispy cereal
  • 1 can (8 oz.) crushed pineapple, drained thoroughly
  • 2 cups chopped cooked chicken or turkey
  • 1 can (10 3/4 oz.) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 1/4 cups chopped celery
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onion
  • 4 1/2 teaspoons soy sauce

Step1
The first step to preparing this casserole is to preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Combine margarine and onion powder. Gradually add cereal, stirring until all pieces are evenly coated. Set aside.
Step2
Combine the casserole ingredients of pineapple, chicken, soup, celery, green onion and soy sauce.
Step3
Stir in 1 cup reserved cereal mixture to the above casserole ingredients.
Step4
Pour into ungreased 2-quart baking casserole dish. Sprinkle with remaining 1 1/2 cups cereal mixture.
Step5
Bake the casserole 30 minutes or until top is lightly browned. Serve and enjoy this unique, but delicious casserole!!
