Large ceramic flat irons are used for straightening very long or thick hair. Large straight irons are not meant to flip hair in or out or add any wave to hair. Ceramic flat irons are easy to use and do not take much practice to perfect your favorite hair style.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Wash and condition your hair as normal. Plug in the ceramic flat iron and preheat it. Comb or pick out tangles. Apply a heat protecting hair product to your hair, and completely dry it with a blow dryer.

  2. Step 2

Part your hair where you would like. Use claw clips to clip the top section of your hair up so it is easy to straighten the bottom layer of hair.

  3. Step 3

Use small sections of hair at a time. Separate the first section of hair. Open the flat iron and close it on the hair, as near to the scalp as possible. Slowly slide the flat iron down the section of hair and off the end.

  4. Step 4

Continue to work with small sections of hair until the entire bottom portion of the hair has been straightened.

  5. Step 5

Unclip the top sections of hair. Run a brush through the hair to remove any tangles.

  6. Step 6

Work in small sections with the hair on the top, just as on the bottom. Straighten each section of hair until the entire head of hair has been straightened.

  7. Step 7

Brush hair out. Look for any sections of hair that may have been missed. Straighten missed sections. Unplug the ceramic flat iron.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use caution not to touch any area near the plates because all areas around the plates get extremely hot.
