Realize that chain nose pliers are known by several other names. Long nose pliers, long chain nose pliers and sometimes needle nose pliers are other terms for chain nose pliers. When you purchase your pliers, ask for chain nose and long chain nose to get the right type of pliers.

2
Find the chain nose pliers that work best for the projects you do because they come in a few styles. You can also get chain nose pliers that have a spring action in the handle to spring back into place once you release your grip on the handle.

Use the pliers when you bend the wire. You can use the outside of the nose to bend the wire at a 90-degree angle. Simply grasp the wire in the jaws of the chain nose pliers and bend the end that sticks out down with the fingers. The exterior shape of the chain nose makes the bend easy.

4
Wrap beads and other wire with wire when you use the chain nose pliers to make bead necklaces and jewelery. Once you decide to attach a wire around another wire or bead, kink the wire first by clamping and bending it. Slide the bead over the bend or bent wire over another wire and clamp down with the chain nose pliers.

5
Reach into small areas to make adjustments on jewelery. The chain nose pliers are miracle workers where space is at a minimum. The very shape of the head allows it to fit into snug areas that no other pliers could fit.
-
6
Hold the wire as you add the beads. These are ideal and can clamp down on a small area of wire to hold. You can string that last bead on with ease when you use the chain nose pliers to do bead work.
