Step 1
Remember who you are. Do not let things go to your head. Remember that everyone you meet on the way up, you will eventually meet on the way back down. Avoid becoming arrogant.
-
Step 2
Be kind to people. Do something good if it is in your power to do so, but do it without fanfare, secretly if possible. Engage in philanthropy.
Find a local charity and support it in every way you can. -
Step 3
Keep people around you who do not treat you like you are special. You need your real friends, the ones who will tell you the truth about yourself.
-
Step 4
Make sure to reach a hand toward someone else who is still struggling to succeed. Do whatever you can to smooth their path.

on 6/18/2009 Nice post. Actually found it clever, as many people (myself included) write about how to be succesful, but not necessarily what to do when you are already there. 5 stars. Well written.

on 6/16/2009 So true that pride comes before the fall. I like what you said about keeping people around you who will let you know when you are out of line, and about keeping the focus on helping others.
