If you are bored with your usual hairstyle, try to jazz it up. Turn your simple ponytail into a fireworks ponytail and have the Fourth of July all year--or as many times as you like.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Hair elastic
  • Hair clip
  • Hair spray
  • Spray-on hair color (optional)
Step1
Brush your hair until you have no tangles. Do this gently so that you don’t damage your hair.
Step2
Gather your hair so it’s away from your face and toward the back of your head.
Step3
Make a ponytail by using a hair elastic of your choice. This elastic should be fabric covered so that it does not damage your hair. Try to position your ponytail so it’s pretty high on your head.
Step4
Choose a hair clip that you think will suit. It can be of any style that you like. Put the hair clip through the hair that you’ve pulled into a ponytail. Keep the hair clip about an inch or so above the elastic.
Step5
Hold the ponytail in your hand and twist a few times, then fasten the hair clip around it so that the ponytail stands upright.
Step6
Spray your ponytail with hair spray. You can even add to the fireworks ponytail effect by adding color.
