The iPod has become indispensable for many. There's nothing quite like the convenience of carrying a library of songs and videos in a package that can easily fit in your pocket. Sometimes, however, video and music costs for the iPod add up. Rather than paying to get videos for your video iPod, you can get free videos. Here's how.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Step1
Download a free program for your iPod that converts video files, YouTube videos, movies and DVDs so you can play them on your iPod (see Resources below). By downloading the program, you instantly increase the number of videos you can play on your iPod and are not restricted to the library at the iTunes store.
Step2
Check out sites that offer free video content for the iPod and MP3 players. You can find music videos as well as comedy sketches, roasts of the president and more.
Step3
Choose video from TV and download it with a program like DVArchive. You can also choose MPEG-D Video. Use a program to convert the video and choose the highest setting. Dictate the setting by the size of your iPod’s drive.
Step4
Click on “File Open” and select the video you converted. Download it to your iPod. Doing this enables you to watch TV shows free on your iPod.
Step5
Rip DVD movies to play on your iPod for free by downloading free programs like Handbrake. Insert the DVD of your choice and exit out of the DVD player. Run the program, clicking on “Detected Volume” and then “Open.” You will be able to watch your DVD on your iPod for free.
