How to Defeat an Elite on Halo Combat Evolved at the Legendary Level

Defeating an elite in Halo Combat Evolved at the Legendary level is difficult, but not impossible. There are a few tricks you can use. One important lesson that you should carry with you always is this: grenades are your friends.

1. Use a plasma pistol for whatever elite target you want to kill when playing Halo Combat Evolved on the Legendary level.

2. Pick up a plasma pistol as you’re playing Halo Combat Evolved. You can find them on the ground after any battles. Jackels and grunts favor plasma pistols, so they’re a good source for them. They will be easier to kill than the elites.

3. Fire your plasma pistol repeatedly, aiming for the elite’s head. Take advantage of the moment when the elite flinches—this will make him easier to kill.

4. Kill the grunts as they scatter. Loss of the elites makes the grunts unorganized and panicked. You’ll be able to get more plasma pistols. Use your grenades as you try to kill elites in Halo Combat Evolved. Even if you don’t get any elites, you’ll be able to get more plasma pistols.
