Water conservation is never a bad thing. In America, we have become quite accustomed to long lavish showers that use a lot of water, which can cost a lot of money. If you want to save on your water bill and help the environment, then you should shower Navy style.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Step into the shower and wet yourself down. The whole goal of a Navy style shower is that it is complete, and you are clean, within 2 minutes. The moment you step into the shower, turn the water temperature to where you think it will be most comfortable. Though the chances of it heating up to where you would like are slim.
Step2
Spin around in the shower making sure your entire body is wet. Make sure to soak your hair, under arms and other hard to reach regions.
Step3
Shut off the water briskly. Now that you are wet it's time to turn off the water. Get ready for a cold chill as the dry air hits your wet body.
Step4
Lather yourself from head to toe with soap. Make sure that you get a good healthy scrub.
Step5
Add shampoo to your hair. Really work the shampoo in and give your head a good scrub.
Step6
Rinse yourself off by turning the water back on. If you plan this right, you will have a whole 60 seconds to complete this shower. And if you're lucky the water temperature might even reach a comfortable level. Work quickly to remove any soap residue on your body.
Step7
Hop out of the shower and towel dry. Because you are showering so quickly and the water won't exactly be hot, you'll want to wrap yourself in a towel quickly to warm up. But as you are shivering ever so slightly, just think that you've done your little part to conserve water by taking a shower Navy style.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you use conditioner in your hair, then turn off the water after you shampoo, apply the conditioner and perform one final rinse.
