How to Share a Google Calendar

Sharing a Google calendar allows others to view events on your schedule that you decide to make public. You can also let others to add events, or place your events on their calendar, regardless of whether or not they use Google calendar. This feature is ideal for coordinating activities with friends and coworkers.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Open up your Google Calendar. If you don't have one, sign up for free. The instructions will walk you through the process of setting up the calendar. You can also take a virtual tour to get familiar with it's features.

  2. Step 2

    Locate your name on the left side of Google Calendar. Click the drop-down arrow on the right side of your name to open a list of options. Choose "Share This Calendar."

  3. Step 3

    Enter the email addresses of the people with whom you wish to share your Google Calendar events. If you're using this calendar to promote a professional business, you may choose to make your calendar public, which means anyone can view it.

  4. Step 4

    Determine how much of the information you want to share by selecting the appropriate settings under "Permission Settings." You can let others see the event and details, or just show when you are busy and available. You can even allow others to change events.

  5. Step 5

    Click on an event and a page will come up that allows you to view the event details and change your settings. You'll find the option to alter the sharing settings on the right side of the page, as well as the HTML code to add your calendar to a website if you choose to do so.
