Making a decorative pillow can be done in different ways. The quickest and easiest is to wrap a pillow form with fabric that matches your decor. You can wrap the pillow form as you would a gift and secure it using hook and loop tape. For a different look, wrap the pillow form as an envelope and add a tassel.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pillow forms
  • Fabric
  • Hook
  • Loop tape
  • Tassel
  • Ribbon
  • Charms
  1. Step 1

Wrap an oval-shaped pillow form in fabric and gather the ends together with a rubber band. Wrap a tassel around the rubber bands to hide them and to add a finishing touch to the pillow.

  2. Step 2

Use fabric to wrap a square or rectangular pillow form in the same way you would wrap a gift. Use hook and loop tape to secure the fabric into place.

  3. Step 3

Create an envelope pillow by wrapping a pillow form in the shape of an envelope. Trim the fabric so it has the traditional triangle fold over the front. Add a tassel to the point of the triangle for a finishing touch. Use hook and loop to secure the fabric into place.

  4. Step 4

Add any embellishments you like to your decorative pillows. You can add fringe trim using hook and eye tape. Or, add charms or ribbons to your pillows. You can tie them around the pillow for easy removal, so you can launder your fabrics when necessary.
