Turning a traditional laser pen into a burning laser is a simple modification that can be done using a small screwdriver and a soldering iron. Adjusting the screw in the laser casing and soldering it in place intensifies the laser beam to the point where it can burn matches.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Purchase a traditional laser pen and remove the batteries. Then remove the other end. You may have to break a seal to do this, as most are glued on.
Step2
Use a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the casing that holds the laser inside the pen. Be careful not to damage the laser during this step.
Step3
Locate the screw that secures the laser to the mechanism at the other end of the casing. Tighten this screw firmly, but not too tightly.
Step4
Heat up the component labeled "03" with a soldering gun, then reassemble the laser pen.
Step5
Test the laser pen on a match or a piece of paper. Make sure that you perform this test in a flameproof container to avoid accidental fire.
