2. Include the best friend in some activities. This is a fine line to walk because you do not want this person to become a third wheel where the two of you will have no time alone. However, you also do not want them to feel alienated by their non-inclusion.

3. Be yourself and do not press the issue. Now while you would like this person's approval, you should not try to be someone you aren't to win them over. Most people do not appreciate people who are kissing up and being fake.

4. Talk to this person and get to know them. Most people enjoy talking about themselves and like people that allow them to do this. So just ask a few questions, sit back and listen. Make the conversation about them and not a mission to ingratiate you with them.

5. Remember some people just make up their minds about a person before they ever meet them. This is often the case with best friends since they are very protective and can view you as an interloper trying to change their lives. Therefore, if they do not respond to you, just stay patient and possibly their attitude will change over time.

6. Allow the boyfriend to do things with his best friend without you. The most common fear about the entrance of a new person in a best friend's life, is that you will take all their time and want to be around constantly.
