1
Know what topics the math test will cover. Your teacher will likely go over this information in class prior to the test. You can always ask your teacher specifically if you aren't sure. Alternatively, to be on the safe side, assume that the topics your teacher covers in class will be on the math test.

2
Start studying ahead of time, not just the night before the test. Doing your homework as assigned will also help you get a good grade on a math test. Do additional practice problems and read over your class notes and textbook as well. Allow yourself plenty of time to study so you don't have to cram it all in the night before the math test.

Arrive to the math test on time. Arriving late can make you lose valuable test time. If you want to get a good grade on a math test, you are going to need all of the time allowed.
-
5
Maintain a good working pace during the test. When you first get the math test, quickly look the entire test over. This way, you can see what you are in for during the test. While taking the test, don't stall if you can help it. If you find a question or problem difficult, and you can't come up with a plan of attack right away, skip it. You can come back to skipped questions later if you have time.

6
Check your work when you are finished the test. You don't want careless errors to negatively affect your test grade. Checking your work can help you see and correct such errors.

Tips & Warnings
Attempt to be relaxed before the test. If you are freaking out and nervous, you will find it harder to focus , which will negatively affect your test grade.
Bring all necessary materials to the math test. If your teacher tells you to bring a calculator, for example, don't forget one. Ask your teacher what materials you will need if you aren't sure.
Be neat on the math test. If your teacher can't read your handwriting, it will be difficult for him to score your test properly. Be as neat as possible to avoid this problem altogether.
