How to Get a Female Friend to Make the First Move

A guy who has a large group of friends often has at least one or two female friends. If you have a female friend that you're interested in romantically, you have to find a way to change the way that she thinks about you and get her to make the first move.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Use your friend knowledge to your advantage. If she has ever confided in you about the type of guy that she likes, then you can use these hints to spark her interest and get her to pursue you.
Step2
Compliment her. If you want a female friend to make a move on you, you need to send out signals to let her know that you’re interested. You don’t have to go on and on about how beautiful she looks, but you should drop subtle hints by saying nice things to her.
Step3
Tell a mutual friend that you like her. Your friend can pass on the message to her and allow her to decide whether or not she wants to date you.
Step4
Get some time alone with her. You’ll find it difficult to flirt if you're always in a group setting. See about getting together one-on-one. You’ll have the opportunity to get to know each other better and hint that you think of her as more than a friend.
Step5
Respond if she makes the first move. You don’t want to lead her on and then suddenly pull away.

Tips & Warnings

  • You risk your friendship with the female friend by flirting with her or dating her. You may never be able to go back to being friends.
  • It may not be possible to jump from friends to boyfriend and girlfriend. She may not feel that way about you and think of you as a brother instead.
