Gymnastics improves your strength, balance and flexibility. It is also a fun and healthy way to get exercise. Learning new tricks gives you a real sense of accomplishment and helps you impress your friends at the same time. Learn to do a handstand roll out to add to your repertoire of gymnastics stunts.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Stretch and warm up before you perform any gymnastics stunts to make sure your muscles are ready. Do simple stretches to ensure your arms, legs, shoulders and wrists are adequately warmed up and ready for the stunt.

  2. Step 2

Take the starting position. Stand with your arms up, pulled tightly close to your ears. Make sure they are straight with your fingers together and pointed toward the sky. Put one foot slightly in front of the other. Keep your toe on the front foot nicely pointed.

  3. Step 3

Step forward with your front foot. Place both hands on the ground and kick up into a handstand. Align your hands with your shoulders. Keep your back and bottom tight to help with balance. Keep your legs straight and pressed together. Point your toes for proper gymnastics form. Stretch your body toward the sky as much as possible.

  4. Step 4

Roll out of the handstand. Lower your head to the ground. Tuck your chin to your chest. Roll forward in one fluid movement. Keep your legs tucked into your chest as you roll out.

  5. Step 5

Stand up as you finish the roll. Put your hands in the finished position--hand and arms in the same place as in the starting position.

Tips & Warnings
  • Perfect your handstand by holding it up against the wall. Once you feel comfortable, move away from the wall and add the roll out.
  • Practice your handstand roll out on a mat or soft surface.
  • Gymnastics comes with risk of injuries. It is best to perform gymnastics stunts under the supervision of a trained coach. Otherwise, perform all stunts at your own risk.
