How to Maintain a Lean Physique

Maintaining a lean physique can be difficult for most people, but with determination and will power, it can be obtained and maintained.

      Set weight goals. Decide what your goal weight is and determine when you would like to have this weight obtained by. Keep a journal or ledger documenting how much weight you lose each week. This will help you see the results on paper.

      Create a plan for success. This will be written in the journal or ledger mentioned in the previous step and outlines what you must do to obtain your goals. This outline should include eating right, exercise, and determination.

      Eat healthy. Remove sugar, sodas and fried foods from your diet. Replace them with natural fruits, raw vegetables, water and grilled foods. You will eventually adapt to your new diet and enjoy it much better.

      Maintain a regular workout schedule. This should include at least 30 minutes of cardiovascular workouts 3 times a week. With the weight you are going to be losing, you should also incorporate weight training to tone and build muscle. Modify your aerobic exercises so you will not become burned out. Running, walking, biking and swimming are all wonderful ways to get a cardiovascular workout in.
