The sprayer in the kitchen sink gets a lot of wear and tear. Even the best kitchen hose eventually develops cracks and begins to leak. When that happens it is time to replace it. Don’t worry if you’re not a plumber. This is a very easy task. The hardest thing to do is removing the stuff out from under the sink to get to the faucet.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Adjustable wrench
  • Replacement hose
  • Teflon plumber’s tape
  1. Step 1

Pay a visit to the local home supply store. Pick up a replacement hose. If you know the brand of your sink, take that information with you. If not, there are universal sink hose kits available.

  2. Step 2

Use the adjustable wrench to disconnect the old hose under the kitchen sink. It should be a male connection that screws into a valve body or fitting underneath the faucet. If the hose is an old one, you may need to apply a bit of pressure to get it to come loose.

  3. Step 3

Pull the old hose out through the top of the sink. Set it aside.

  4. Step 4

Open the new hose. Carefully read the instructions. They should be similar to the directions that follow here in Step 5 and Step 6.

  5. Step 5

Thread the male connector end of the new faucet through the hose hole in the kitchen sink. If it came with weights, attach them.

  6. Step 6

Apply Teflon plumber’s tape to the threads on the male end of the replacement hose. Screw the new hose into place. Tighten it by hand and then use the wrench to make it snug. Turn the water on at the sink to make sure there are no leaks.
