Reggaeton music is a blend of reggae, techno, hiphop and Latin flavors. Singers and mixers like Daddy Yankee and Don Omar have brought reggaeton to the forefront of popular culture. Dancing to this music is about being free--lots of quick popping movements and sexual flare.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Pop your shoulders front and back, bringing your chest forward as you pop your shoulders back. Practice moving to the beat of the reggaeton music.

  2. Step 2

Bring your arms up in front of you and add them to the shoulder movements. Keep your left arm above your right, switch and play around with specific placement to make the move your own.

  3. Step 3

Add a foot stomp. With your legs in a wide stance, stomp your left foot down, bringing it up quickly as you pop your body to the beat.

  4. Step 4

Turn in a circle, stomping your foot to twist you around. Vary your arm movement, add a head bob or roll your chest or hips for a new style.

  5. Step 5

Practice this sway move on both sides, turning left and right and swaying in place. Find your own style and add this movement to your reggaeton dancing.

Tips & Warnings
  • Stretch before and after dancing. Reggaeton is very physical, so the more you are in shape the better you can dance.
  • Keep your knees slightly bent and body loose throughout reggaeton dancing. With such quick movements you don't want to hurt yourself by overexerting your knees and muscles.
