Perform a 180 Pivot on a skateboard by turning your skateboard 180 degrees in midair. If you do it correctly, you'll land the nose where the board’s tail started. When the skateboard is turned on the ground, it is a kickturn or revert. Once you have ollies and 180s mastered, start stringing these high flying tricks together with some creative landings.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Start the 180. Position your feet on the skateboard in a 50-50 placement with the rear foot toward the center of the tail end. Put your front foot about 3/4 of the way on the board. Keep your body relaxed and loose, but work your shoulders when you kick the board into the air.

  2. Step 2

Shift your back foot as far around as you can while keeping it on the board. Pop your kick to launch you and the board up into the air. At the same moment, drag your front foot up on the board in the opposite direction from your back foot. Both feet should move the board around. That’s the 180 portion of the trick.

  3. Step 3

Bend your knees and land. The moment your trucks (wheels) hit the pavement, go into the backside pivot. Most skaters call this the back 5-0, and it's usually performed on a pole, curb or coping at skateparks.

  4. Step 4

Snap up the board’s tail. Shift your weight toward the back far enough to get a good pivot without falling and swivel the board around to finish the trick.
