If you're practicing a skill with bad form, you're only reinforcing a bad habit, rather than improving your skill. This is especially true in golf. Everything depends on your swing, so it's important to maintain proper form. Impact tape can help you to pinpoint the sweet spot of the club head.

- Moderate

1
Find the sweet spot. It's not always in the center of the club. Different angles and head shapes affect the sweet spot. Some impact tape will have these spots printed on it.
-
2
Apply the tape. Make sure you have the appropriate impact tape for your club type.
-
3
Take a swing. The tape shows where the ball impacts by leaving a dimpled mark.
-
4
Adjust your swing to bring the impact closer to the sweet spot. This may take quite a few swings. Unless you have reusable impact tape, you may need to replace the tape to get a fresh look at where the balls are hitting the club head.
-
5
Pay attention to the ball once you're hitting the sweet spot. Hitting the sweet spot doesn't guarantee a good shot. You may still need to adjust your swing to maximize your success.
-
6
Repeat this procedure for all of your clubs. Impact tape is available for woods, irons and putters.
