How to Make Korean Ramen
"Ra-myeon" or ramen noodles have become a source of concern in their native Korea. Manufacturers raised the price of a pack of noodles by about 11 cents causing a run on groceries. In the U.S. ramen is a quick and inexpensive favorite among college students and office workers. This traditional dish is easy to turn into a satisfying meal with the addition of meat and veggies. Things You'll Need
- 1 package ramen noodles
- Chili powder
- Cayenne
- Garlic powder,
- Freshly ground black pepper
- Hot dog pieces
- Dried seawood
- Egg
- Bits of chicken
- Green onions
- Lime
- Chopsticks

Put 2 cups of water in a medium saucepan and set it on the flame to boil. Adjust the amount of water for the amount of soup base desired. Add spices like garlic powder, cayenne pepper, chili powder and freshly ground black pepper to the water.

Open a package of noodles and snap them in half. Add the noodles to the boiling water. Stir the noodles apart as they cook.

Add the packet of soup base. Add any fresh vegetables or potatoes. Continue stirring the noodles to evenly distribute the flavorings.

Reduce the heat after 3 minutes. Add other ingredients, including dried seaweed, hotdog pieces, shredded chicken or an egg. Add sliced green onions for texture and flavor. Finish with a squeeze of fresh lime.

Pour the noodles into a bowl. Serve with kimchi or banchan.

Tips & Warnings
To add an egg to the ramen, crack it into a small bowl and beat it slightly with a fork. Slowly pour the egg into the boiling ramen, stirring constantly.
Add a slice of cheese to the top of the finished ramen. Eat the cheese first. Do not stir it into the soup.
