Etiquette can be a pain to learn, but it will serve you well when you're eating in mixed company, particularly if you're with people you want to impress. You probably think eathing with a spoon is easy, and you're right. But there is a form to maintain unless you want people to think you're an uncouth chow hound.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Pick up the spoon with the thumb and index finger of the hand you write with. Resting your thumb against the top of the spoon handle, hold the against the side of the middle and index fingers. The spoon will touch the top of the middle finger and near the base of the index finger. Never grip the spoon in a clench fist.
Step2
Put the spoon in the bowl and scoop up some food, but avoid a "heaping" spoonful. Hold the spoon straight so the food doesn't spill and point the utensil away from you. Subtly shake off any excess.
Step3
Move the spoon between your in one graceful motion and place the food in your mouth. Place the spoon on the plate while you chew or swallow. Pick it up when your mouth is empty and you're ready to resume eating. Do not scoop up any food while before you swallow.
