How to Fight With a Stick

A stick can be a dangerous and even deadly weapon if it's wielded by trained hands. However, you must understand how to use a stick in battle or your opponent can turn your own weapon on you.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Step1
Establish proximity. Move close enough to reach your opponent with a stick blow, but far enough away that you have enough room to swing and strike without hitting your opponent with your forearm.
Step2
Hold the stick straight out in front of you. Lead with the same leg as your stick hand. Keep the shoulder on the side of your unarmed hand back. Maintain this position so that the stick is the most prominent surface for your opponent to counterstrike while the broad surface of your body is angled out of reach.
Step3
Wait to strike. Look for an opening, since your opponent may close the distance between you if you miss. He may even take the weapon out of your hands.
Step4
Make a plus sign or an "x" pattern with your weapon. Form the plus sign pattern with lateral strikes across your opponent's head or neck. Alternate up and down strikes as if you were forming a "+" with every two blows. The "x" pattern brings the stick down and across the opponent in either a forehand or backhand position.
