Step 1
Learn the basic salsa step. Step forward left, step right in place, step left back to close right and hold for two counts. Step back right, step left in place, step right forward to join left and hold for two counts. Repeat this basic step a few times to get into the rhythm of the song.

Step 2
Break back left. Step left and right in place and step your left foot back behind your right, turning you to the side. Break back right, stepping right and left in place and right behind your left, twisting you back to the front. Get used to the quarter turns before moving onto left turn steps.

Step 3
Step forward with your left foot. Step in place with the right and step the left foot back behind you. Quarter turn to the left, facing the left side of the room.

Step 4
Keep your left foot in place and step over it with your right foot, turning on the balls of your feet. Turn the rest of the way around--over your left shoulder--to face the front of the room again.

Step 5
Step forward with your left foot, having turned to the front, and step right to close. You've now finished the left turn step.

Step 6
Repeat the left turn step until you feel comfortable with it. Add it to your salsa routine and keep practicing.
