A favorite of pasta and cheese lovers alike, macaroni and cheese is an American classic. If you don't have the time to slave over a stove making traditional homemade macaroni and cheese, but you just aren't satisfied with the boxed version, you can transform boxed macaroni and cheese into an extra cheesy supper surprise.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Medium saucepan
  • Boxed macaroni and cheese
  • Strainer
  • Spreadable cheese
  • Microwave
  • Whole milk or half and half
  • Black pepper
  1. Step 1

Boil the water in a medium saucepan and add the boxed macaroni and cheese. Boil the pasta for about 15 minutes, or until tender, stirring occasionally to avoid sticking.

  2. Step 2

Strain the water from the pasta, taking care with the hot water and shake the noodles to remove any water trapped inside. Place the pasta back into the saucepan.

  3. Step 3

Melt your favorite spreadable cheese in the microwave. Only heat the cheese until it becomes a liquid, making sure not to burn your cheesy sauce.

  4. Step 4

Add whole milk or half and half to your pasta and stir thoroughly, warming the milk with the hot pasta. Add the packet of powdered cheese mix from your box of macaroni and cheese and stir until completely dissolved. Add black pepper for seasoning.

  5. Step 5

Stir in your heated cheese and enjoy a hot steaming bowl of extra cheesy macaroni and cheese.
